Liatris spicata (Family: Asteraceae) Common name: Blazing star, spike blazing star, gay feather, button snake root, snakeroot The photo (26.7.2002) shows the plant Liatris spicata. The plant flowers from July to October in different colors (for example white, violet or red violet). The plants are very attracts for insects and butterflies. Liatris spicata want however sufficient humidity and full sun.
